NIPSCO Generation LLC (“GenCo”) is a subsidiary of NiSource Inc., created to meet the growing energy needs of data centers while protecting residents and local businesses. GenCo is expected to create savings for NIPSCO electric customers, strengthen the grid, and energize Northern Indiana’s economy.

The electricity GenCo creates will be used by NIPSCO to power data center growth. ​We currently expect to generate approximately $1 billion in savings for existing NIPSCO electric customers over the next 15 years.
Cost Savings

New data center customers pay for the cost of new generation and transmission infrastructure. This ensures NIPSCO electric customers don’t pay those costs. ​

Cost savings will be delivered back to NIPSCO electric customers – approximately $1 billion in bill credits over the next 15 years.
